BYO JEWELLERY BOX – ecoupcycle workshop

This workshop is specifically for those with jewellery boxes full of loved beads, solo earrings and outdated necklaces. Using the unworn and unwearable jewellery which has memories of place and people, you will be guided to create a new design. Making something new and wearable. It makes sense to re-use and up-cycle what we already have.

In this workshop, with Michele’s expertise, you can thread your old jewellery into a contemporary, new piece of jewellery.

Learn jewellery making skills, add a splash of artisan emubeads to create a new piece of jewellery woven with memories.

Each emubead is handmade by Michele, individually created by a slow process of layering heated glass, shaping, mixing glass with metal and powder inclusions and sometimes combined with her hand-forged silver components. All speak of her exquisite artistry and bespoke jewellery.

Beginner friendly.

Date:  9am – 12 noon, Sunday, October 31, 2021

Project: Begin with a table full of emubeads, and a few tools of the trade. Michele plans your design with you, using the jewellery collection you bring. You begin to thread your beads adding a few emubeads into your design. At the end of the 3-hour workshop you will have a wearable piece of jewellery, woven with memories.

Cost:  $50pp, includes soft flex wire and $10 complimentary emubeads – MAX: 4 (5) participants

What to bring: Bring your old, collected beads for upcycling – outdated but loved necklaces, solo earrings… jewellery that’s too short, too broken –  things of memories, kept and loved, in need of eco upcycling.
